Wow - 99 comments in 2 days!

Two of them are mine, but still... I wonder if it's the new blog (instead of going through Myspace and Goodreads) or the weekend timing, or the 5 books I've dangled on my little glass hook ;>

No worries if you couldn't follow (I didn't know it would be tricky!)  - I'll pick a winner from the commenters as well.  Oh and I forgot to mention the contest includes international as well - I have to celebrate in style.

Some news and links - I did a guest blog over at Eve's Fan Garden about strong female characters - titled, Before there was Buffy...  go here, if you'd like to read it:  http://evesfangarden.com/blog/2010/08/12/before-there-was-buffy-by-maria-v-snyder/

And my local paper did a review of SPY GLASS in today's paper.  Here's the link if anyone is interested: http://articles.lancasteronline.com/local/4/276506

  1. Oh, cool! :D 99 in two days! WOW! I'd like to read SPY GLASS's review but I've yet to read the book -- it's coming out next month for us Australians -- and I don't like spoilers. >.<"

  4. Very interesting post on strong women in TV. I have to throw in a vote for pretty much all the women in the UK TV series "Blake's 7" (1978), which was a sci-fi series from the creator of Doctor Who. The main villain, Servalan, was originally written for a man, so was especially interesting, and actress Jacqueline Pearce played her wonderfully.

  5. I read the review in your local paper, you say that this is the final book in the Study/Glass series for now, so i hope that means that one day in the not to distant future their will be another triology to come from the Study/Glass series?

  7. I'm glad to hear that this is an international competition. I hate it when american writers leave european readers out, so you've earned more brownie points from me !!!!!!

I'm with the previous two comments; i think i would miss the world of Valek and Yelena too much

  8. I am excited to have Spy Glass come out. I can't wait to read it. While I am excited, I am also sad that it is the end. I am with the others that I will miss this world and all of the amazing characters you have created.

  9. I have subscribed and am re-reading the Study series! I absolutely love the books and each time I read them it is like I am reading it for the first time even though I know what happens to them! I do hope you continue writing books about Sitia and Ixia.

  11. he-he!!! going international is such great news!!!! i definitely feel left out every time i have to wait till my book is shipped from the states. 3 weeks to 1 month of excruciating torture! yet when they arrive it's so worth it! the idea of a chance of having a signed book of yours is just HUGE!

  14. I'm very excited I got my Spy Glass book today (which I pre-ordered on Amazon)! I'm looking forward to continuing with all my favorite characters, but also a little sad since it may end with this book (for now at least). These characters have become my friends and every time I finish one of the study books I feel lonely without them. Thanks Maria, I love these books!
