This is the cover for the US and Canada.  Release date in the US and Canada is December 31, 2013 (I don't have details for the UK or Australian release dates yet).

    please please please have the auzzie cover as a black cover and the flower.
    i love your books but i have a thing about book covers with people on them. i dont seem as interested.
    but with the end u put on #2 how could i not get it but i would be a little dissapointed as i was expecting maybe a red or a green flower. they were amazing!

      I believe the Auzzie cover of Taste of Darkness will match the others with the black covers and flowers. However, I have no control over what my publisher puts on the cover - I'm not that famous ;) and I do trust their art department to come up with an engaging cover.

    I'm with Anonymous who posted on July 10, 2013 at 5:56 AM. The cover is okay, but I too am not a fan of real people on the cover and it's just so different from every other book you've published. But it's not like I won't read the book. I love your books very much and I will read it no matter the cover, but it's still a bit to see a real person on the front cover.

    Ahhhh!!! Yah! I can't wait! :D *happy* But, I have to say, the book covers for the healer series are my least favourite out of all the covers for her books. The first one was really girly.... didn't like it very much, the second one was badly photoshopped and Avry showed a bit too much skin..... and this one... ehhhhh... seeing the cup in her hand made me go *FACEPALM" cuz.... seriously??!?!?1 "taste" of darkness? more creative ideas with the cover plz? The cup doesn't relate to the story at all!!!(unless i missed something in the 3 times i've read the books? or is there something coming in the new book....)

    However, the cover doesn't affect the story inside and i can't wait for it to come out! :D I've read all her books and own 4, and can't wait for new material! :)

      Thanks for the comment Avsh - I like the UK covers for the Healer books a bit better than the US ones. The cup is on the cover of the third book, which hasn't been published yet - so it might be significant...uh....guess I should add in a scene ;)

    December 31, that's a Tuesday. I'm waiting for about five other books to come out between now and then and they all have Tuesday release dates. Is that just a coincidence or is there something special about Tuesdays in the publishing world?

    I truly love ur books...need a change in book cover though. .it makes ur book look really cheesy..
    I'll read ur books as I have since my first study series 4 yrs ago..
    I have shared it in fb and with my friends but the cover should be different. .should show girl power

    i was hoping to get it for Christmas this year i got so annoyed when i finished the 2nd book because it ended so suddenly. i was sad for days and have read it 5 times already

    Maria please please PLEASE find a way to make at least ONE of your series into a movie! EVERY SINGLE SERIES IS AMAZING! My favourite series is... I can't even decide! When is Taste Of Darkness coming out? I can't wait for it! I have read all your books at least 5 times and the endings in every one made me go out on a library spree until I found the next one! I want to be a writer as well, and you're the one who inspired me to do so! Your books are amazing and I wish I could write as well as you do! (even though I know I never will because you are too freaking amazing!!!)

House Cleaning

I'm cleaning out my inbox.  It's amazing just how many emails can lurk below what I can see on my computer screen.  I think they hide there, hoping I'd forget about them ;>  I've long since given up my goal of being "caught up" with all my email replies.  Now, if I'm only a week or two behind, I'm feeling pretty good. What exactly are we celebrating?  Three things.  One - I've over 500 Followers!  Considering my off again on again relationship with this blog, that's pretty impressive.  Two - I just received my copies of TOUCH OF POWER.  (author perk!)
